PRO ATHLETES DITCHING IBUPROFEN FOR CBD PAIN-RELIEF

Professional athletes across the NFL, NBA and MLB are ditching ibuprofen for CBD pain-relief. This trend is especially prevalent in endurance sports like cycling and running. Andre Talansky, a professional cyclist recently spoke with Outside Magazine and professed that a bottle of CBD has healed the inflammation in his hip flexor.

“I took it for a couple of weeks, and there was a noticeable difference immediately,” Talansky says. “And it wasn’t just that my hip was feeling better. I was less anxious, and I was sleeping better.”

The World Anti-Doping Agency removed CBD from its banned substances in January, and that has really opened the floodgates because athletes use cbd. CBD is now basically a staple at marathons and triathlons. All this amounts to why CBD is booming.  According to a study by the Brightfield Group, a market-research firm based in Chicago, Illinois, hemp CBD generated $170 million in revenue in 2016. With annual sales growing at a rate of 55 percent, it’s poised to be a $1 billion industry by 2020.

Coincidentally, Outside details how Talansky uses a CBD oil made from the company owned by Floyd Landis, a cyclist who had his Tour de France victory stripped for synthetic testosterone. Landis himself attests to CBD helping him kick the opioid habit.

“It’s the only thing I use now,” Landis says. “I try not to oversell it, because I don’t want to sound insane. But if you can stop taking other pain medications, if you have a natural solution, that’s probably the better option.”
Bougainville Ventures (CSE:BOG) is a CBD company moving aggressively to meet demand during this boom. The company is currently testing a CBD energy drink that would perfectly with the needs of cyclists like Talansky. BOG is currently testing the product for release.
